Don't reset filter/sort settings on task list

Sam Sampoux · 2 · Last reply by Brooke Peterson

I often filter the list of all tasks from all projects, but whenever I run/edit/copy a task, the filter setting gets reset, and I have to refilter again, and again, and again. This is not an efficient setup. Please disable the reset. If a user knows how to apply a filter, they would also know to reset that filter if/when desired. This also happens to sorting. I sort the list based on Frequency for instance, then click Run on a task. The page refreshes and my sort preference is no longer set.

    Thanks,

Duplicate Model Metrics: # of Warnings vs. # of All Revit Warnings

    Dan Warren · 0 · Posted

Looking at our metrics across all our projects we have 7 projects that seem to be returning a few different metrics. So, the following question came up:

Is there a difference between these two metrics?

Additionally, the following metrics appear to be similar:

    # of High Warnings v. # of Warnings - High Severity # of Medium Warnings v. # of Warnings - Medium Severity # of Low Warnings v. # of Warnings - Low Severity

The alerts are based on the former for each example. Does it matter? Is there a way to get all projects to report under

Set BIM360 Download Zip File Name

    Dan Warren · 0 · Posted

Is there a way to control the output file name of the BIM360 Download task?

I am unable to control the name of the .zip file that is created. We use Panzura and it would be preferable to overwrite the same .zip file when the backup task is run as opposed to creating a new .zip every month.

how best to link ceiling height to room?

Bruce Gunderson · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

I would like to be able to view ceiling height in a json shape file in power bi. I am unable to find the best report for linking that connects the relationship of the rooms with the ceilings and its height. I noticed that the Room Data sheets have this ability but wanted to capture in power bi with the json file.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bruce

Can you tell me if "Publish" in this context means Publish in BIM360 or Publish in terms of ISO19650. It seems to be the latter but I want to achieve the former

clarity [Project] keyword in BIM 360 Backup Task

Dan Warren · 1 · Last reply by Dan Warren

Had a unique issue happen for the first time in ever.... almost all of our BIM 360 Backup tasks failed yesterday. They all use the same naming convention:

    \\\shared\projects\\[Project]\clarity\BIM 360 Backup

we use this convention on MANY tasks, but last night over 50+ of our BIM 360 backup projects failed. Many however created these lovely " [Project] " folders on our server that once explored have BIM 360 backups in them.

I moved the backups to their correct folder and cleaned everything up. but these same tasks have been running for months without issue until last night.

    The only thing

  • Clarity Tasks with Worksets None

Sherry Pittman · 1 · Last reply by Dustin Gore

You can increase productivity by running some of your tasks with Worksets set to None.  This will improve the open time, dramatically in some cases, depending on the size of the file and the number of links.

Below is a list of tasks that can run with worksets set to None without impacting the output from the task.

  • Clarity Port When Using SSL

    Sherry Pittman · 0 · Posted

    Issue:

Port changes with new email sending library called MailKit.

    Cause:

Customers were starting to run into occasional issues where we had problem sending email with TLS/SSL, and because it was related to a Microsoft Component for sending mail that they’ve deprecated. In Clarity 2022 we brought in a new email sending library called “MailKit”.

It turns out that Mailkit behaves a bit differently than the original Microsoft component.

    - It basically ignores the “Use SSL” option you specify, and infers the setting from the port number. MailKit said: “You do not have a valid certificate for this mail server”.

    File has been deleted

    Jordan Lane · 0 · Posted

During a very importnat deadline last week. One of our files was shwon as Deleted in the Activity Stream on Clarity, it is hosted on BIM 360, we have had no problems with this file until now. I could not find the file anywhere to include in tasks. Why did this happen and how do I prevent it from happening again?

Can we split the emails between emails from projects/scheduled tasks and emails from user run tasks?

Jessica Cardinal · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

We are constantly running automated model checks and publications, which fail due to simple things that the admin can take care of, but all users assigned to that project are getting notified. So we turn off their email notifications, which then causes them to not receive emails when they run tasks themselves.

Please be aware:  If you have Clarity with Revit Server, the Clarity Host install will need to be done off hours when no one is accessing the models.  If you have Clarity with just file based and or 360 projects, then you can do the install at any time.

While the upgrade is not as easy as our “patching” updates, it’s not too hard. These are “setup.exe” installations, and if you follow the instructions below, you are unlikely to run into any issues.

Include the Median Hours in the Monthly Report

Dan Warren · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

I think including the median hours saved in the monthly report would provide a little more context to the monthly report. Providing just the mean implies a symmetrical dataset which I can only assume is not exactly the case. I would guess it's not a perfect bell curve. So, if we could get the median it might provide a little more nuance to understanding where the "average" firm sits in the dataset.

  • Last Warning: Important Update for BIM360/Clarity

Matt Mason · 2 · Last reply by Matt Mason

Autodesk has previously announced that they are discontinuing support for a Forge API used to upload models to BIM360. They are basically stepping out of the middle, and encouraging all Forge developers to upload directly to Amazon S3. This discontinuance is planned for September 30, 2022. (interested in more info? See Here)

In order to be fully supported for all features of integration with BIM360, you must be updated to at least the following Clarity Updates to not encounter problems (depending on your Clarity version):

Older versions are not currently planned to be supported.

Updates are applied by running the

  • How to Increase the Size of the Logs on the Task Server

    Sherry Pittman · 0 · Posted

    Issue:

The log files are rolling over too fast to help with troubleshooting.  When we request diagnostics for a task that ran into an issue, these logs, along with the journal if it is a Revit task are what we use to determine what happened.  If they are out of date, we can't see what happened.  Changing the configuration to larger files and/or more will cover a larger time span.

    Solution:

Increase the file size and/or the number of logs.

There are three different types of logs, they record different information based on the type of task.  The log configuration
