Clarity version 2024 not allowing ProjectWise username prefaced with an underscore?

Edward · 1 · Last reply by Edward

Our company standards dictate that all our ProjectWise service accounts are prefaced with "_" and we have never had an issue with 2023 version of Clarity... However after upgrading to 2024 it appears that this introduces errors within the latest version 2024?

Personally I've never had any issue using the ProjectWise API with these usernames before; however the Clarity software seems to cause significant errors with Connection Client software licensing in this latest version... Can we please get this bug patched instead of just writing a warning and pretending that the problem is within the ProjectWise API?

    Thanks, Ed

    Multiple ClarityPDF Drivers

Holden Fleck · 3 · Last reply by Matt Mason

I've been noticing a bottleneck in the scalability of Clarity as a PDF automation tool. You can increase the number of Revit sessions that can run at one time on your task machines, and you can vary the PDF drivers to allow for each session to run PDFs simultaneously. However, varying the drivers only makes sense if you're ok with not having the PDFs coming from Clarity follow the same standard.

Our use case requires all PDFs to be printed as individual sheets, which requires us to have the naming be consistent and clean. Only the Clarity PDF driver does

  • Clarity Revit Database Export Settings

    Sherry Pittman · 0 · Posted

The Revit DBExport task is the most common task used in Clarity.  This will export information that populates tables in the database.  That information will populate for Data Sheets, Reports and various dropdown selection dialogs for other tasks.

There is no physical output for this task.

This document will help you decide what settings you need set, to get the information you need.

    Time Saver Note

The Revit Database Export task can be run with worksets closed (NONE) to improve efficiency without compromising the data exported, however if you need svg images for datasheets or reports, worksets will need to

  • Clarity File-Folder Naming Restrictions Reference

    Forbidden Characters

As a rule, all of the symbols below should be avoided, in both file names and folder names to reduce the likelihood of issues in various environments.  An underscore _ as a separator is always acceptable.

The table below shows what and where a symbol not allowed (No) or is allowed (Yes) or not specifically listed as not allowed.

    • Don’t add a space at the beginning or end of a file or folder name.
    • Use less than 260 characters in file or folder paths, 245 for Egnyte.

Support more than 5 Revit versions back

Evgeny Kurbatov · 3 · Last reply by Evgeny Kurbatov

We have a project which still runs in Revit 2018. We have a special agreement with Autodesk to extend our licenses for Revit 2018. We would like to run Clarity task for that project, but it has a limited number of Revit versions to support.

Can you consider some flexibility for supported Revit versions?

    Thank you.

    Evgeny.

How to set Clarity to truly run tasks "Only On Change"

Holden Fleck · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

I have been having some issues with task queue saturation recently that I haven't previously. From what I have found it appears that projects with models that haven't been synced by non-clarity users for months or even years are churning out tasks for all models, despite being set to "On Change" for all their tasks. This results in Current Tasks filling up too quick for our Clarity task machines to handle. Left on its own, Clarity ends up with a 2000-3000 task backlog after a day or two. Teams expecting PDFs or DWGs are seeing delays and my planned runtimes

Feature request for email notification - Please include folder path in the Move/Copy Post action

    Kervin Calero · 0 · Posted

I'd like to request a feature added to the email notification. Please include a clickable file explorer link to the folder path specified in the Move/Copy Post action. This path link will take you to the results faster instead of having to manually look for it. The email notification already has a lot of info but missing this. Thanks

Can we add columns to the All Projects table view?

Eric Stimmel · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

Is there a way (or could there be a way) to add columns to the All Projects table view? I saw a couple of other requests about adding task/task server specific columns, but I'm thinking more along the lines of the built in project properties like Type, Hub, Office, maybe Tags and also custom Project Parameters like if we create a BIM Manager parameter (which we have) it would be great to be able to filter the list of projects by that parameter or by office or filter out our hub to see what projects are hosted on external hubs,

Provide the option to set files to open "Last Viewed" for worksets

Max Lobo · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

Currently, when Clarity collaborates a model to the cloud, it sets the open option to "Specify" for worksets.  Would be good to have the ability to select "Last Viewed" or other options available in Revit.

    Web trigger

Samuel Ketron · 2 · Last reply by Matt Mason

We are storing documents on Google Drive. There is a web trigger that you can apply to ACC but if we could have a trigger that applies to google drive, that would be very beneficial.

    hard drive size

Derek Becher · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

I think it would be a good idea to increase the recommended size on your, spec list. Small firms maybe able to get away with 500MB drive, but 1TB is going to be a better long term solution for most firms. We out grew the 500MB drive in less than a year and with rack mounted task server this was a little more complicated that swapping in a new C drive. Its mostly due to the ACC docs folder and the collaboration cache, not the files generated by clarity.

  • Clarity Override to Delete Dimensions (Clarity 2024)

    Sherry Pittman · 0 · Posted

There is now a way in Clarity 2024, to configure an override when there is an error opening the model like the one shown below.

For Clarity 2025 refer to this blog:  https://imaginit.helprace.com/i659-clarity-2025-task-tray-configuration-for-error-overrides

Error: One or more dimension references are or have become invalid.

This configuration change is done at your own risk and will apply to all models on this task server that have the configuration files modified.

    WARNING

This modification will allow us to delete the dimension(s) so we can continue processing the task, this means that those elements will not show up in the model for that task.

Is it safe to upgrade our Task Servers to Autodesk Desktop Connector 16.5?

Eric Stimmel · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

Seems like a bunch of bug fixes and given how buggy it is, we're just hoping it will help a little to be on the same version as our users. It's been out for nearly 2 months now and I imagine you've had some time to test, but if it's more problematic to upgrade than to stay at 16.4, we will wait.

Transfer Clarity Host to new virtual server

Bruce Gunderson · 1 · Last reply by Scott MacKenzie

    Hello,

We are upgrading our physical local server and need to transfer the Clarity Host on current virtual server on the old physical hardware to the new physical server with the transferred or copied virtual server with the Clarity Host. What is the best way to do this? Would setting up a meeting with Imaginit support be helpful?

    Any knowledge would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

  • Clarity Task Server Configuration to Shorten the Artifact Path

Windows path length limitations will come into play when the fully qualified file name exceeds 260 characters, or the directory name is greater than 248 characters.
