Task Timeline not shown
Hello,
The Task Timeline is not showing scheduled Tasks. I select a day, hit View and nothing shows. Not sure if there is an issue with how I set up the tasks or something else.
I would like to schedule the tasks to be run at night but am unable to do so.
Support would be helpful.
Thanks,
Bruce Gunderson

Autodesk Vault connect support
Hello,
We have Autodesk Vault for Revit document control. We would like to connect to Vault Server and the files in Vault in order to run Tasks. It would be great to have a connect to Vault similar to Projectwise.
Thanks,
Bruce Gunderson

Can't deselect all projects at once in template task assignment dialog
The dialog where you assign a template task to projects has changed. You can now filter by tags - yay! But I can no longer deselect all projects to unassign them at once. I can check the top box next to Project and it shows everything on the current page being selected, and when I check it again, everything I can see deselects. Unfortunately, when I try to apply the change, I get a message that "Tasks failed to update". The effect of this in my organization is that we have to go through 38 pages of projects to unassign

Clarity 2026 General Upgrade Instructions and Video Links
Upgrading Clarity to a new version of the software requires running the Setup.exe. While it is not as simple as running the Updater from the desktop, it is not overly complex. There are video links below on the install process. If you would like assistance with the install, please contact your sales representative to get some Design Assist hours (perhaps 2 hours) for a typical installation. IMPORTANT NOTE: Backup the RandRevit Database It is recommended that you have a current backup of the RandRevit database. If Backup System Database is set to True in the General System Settings, you should see a weekly backup of the RandRevit

Operating System Upgrade
My IT team contacted me and wanted to know what the best procedure is for upgrading the operating system on our Clarity Host and (3) Task Servers. The Host is currently running Windows Server 2019 and we plan to upgrade to either Windows Server 2022 or 2025 (not sure yet).
For the Task Servers we are currently using physical workstations (not VM) on Windows 10 22H2 and need to upgrade to Windows 11 24H2.
Is it possible to upgrade each machine or simply rebuild each one and set things up fresh. Looking for any guidance on how this affects Clarity.

Scheduled Task Sequence does not run
Hello,
We have a couple of task sequences that refuse to kickoff nightly as scheduled. They include the typical Revit Database Export, Model Metrics, Performance Advisor, then a Navisworks Export with a Post Action to BIM360/ACC. The Task Sequence does not have "Only On Change" checked, so it should be running nightly regardless of updates to the model. Is anyone else having this issue? Our team is starting to lose faith in the product.
Thank you

AutoCAD read only
Can we get an option added to all AutoCAD tasks that will allows up to open the DWGs in read only mode? I know not every AutoCAD command may work with this, but it would be helpful to have for tasks and scripts that will still function in read only files.

Clarity Task Basics Setup-Above the Line
This blog is to cover the basic task setup Above the Line
When I say ‘above the line’ I am referring to the area shown below which is common to most tasks.
I am using a PDF task in this example, but this will apply to most Task types.

This is where you will set the basic settings of the task

Transfer Standard - Overwrite
We have a project which is a building split by multiple partial Revit files. We need to have uniform View Templates through all the models. From time to time we transfer the view templates from one of the models to other models manually using the Overwrite option.
Using the existing 'Transfer Project Standards' task we get duplicates:
Sorry, it is not the way the task is expected working for us. We just want to overwrite existing view templates as shown on the picture above. Probably other Clarity users would need the 'New Only' option.
Would it be possible to update

Transfer Standards from a Cloud Model
When we have a BIM360/ACC project all the project related models are located in the Cloud and one of the models keeps the Standards which periodically should be transferred to other models.
The current Clarity task template allows to select a local/network file only. it is inconvenient and takes time to download the model with Standards and then use it for processing the task.
It would be great if we can use a cloud model as a source of Standards for transferring.

Performance Advisor Results
Results are exported as a ZIP file rather than the HTML contained within it; can the ZIP export be optional?
Also, on the Model Metrics page, the Performance Advisor results are always cut-off when attempting to view them. Zooming out in the browser still justifies the results to the right so that when you hover over the metric indicator, the flyout information bubble is off-screen. To note, the webpage expands and you can technically scroll, but you'd have to move your cursor off the metric to scroll (causing the info bubble to disappear along with the scroll bar) or you'd

Clarity Task Schedule Only On Change
The Only on Change setting is intended to save unnecessary tasks from running, so if nothing has changed in the model, the task does not run.
What Determines if the Task Runs
When setting a task schedule to Only on Change, that means that even though that task is set to run at a set day/time, it will only run if one of the following occurs:
-
The date of the target file changed in Clarity since the last time it ran?
-
You can see that date on the Project Home page or
-
The Files tab for that file

Clarity PDF Task Named Page Setup vs In Session
When setting up a Revit PDF task and defining the Page Setup area of the task, you can use a Named Page Setup, or define the settings in the task [In-Session]
It is important to know that the PDF driver that is used is set on the Task Server in the Clarity Task tray, unless you are using the Revit Export settings in this task (Revit 2022+)
The only PDF driver that can run in multiple sessions of Revit aside from the Revit PDF Export, is the PDFx driver.
All other pdf drivers can only run in one instance of

Task Sequence Setup Guidelines
A task sequence bundles together multiple tasks in a project so that they will run together, in a single operation, in a guaranteed sequence.
That means, that regardless of the server settings, the targets in this task will all run at the same time and in the order specified in the task setup.
If you are running a sequence on multiple targets, this could cause issues with tasks failing due to timeout issues.
The task server that claims the sequence will do all of the tasks in the sequence, for all models, in one session.
Guidelines
- You cannot mix File scoped and Project scoped

How to Manually Backup the RandRevit Database
If you need to make any sort of changes to the database, it is highly recommended to backup the RandRevit database.
It's also a good idea to have an up to date backup in case of disaster recovery.
Connecting to the database
RDP into the machine where the SQL Database is installed, if you are using the SQL database installed with Clarity it will be on your host server.
- Log onto the server as the Clarity Service account that runs the services and application pools, this should allow you to Log into SQL with Windows Authentication
- Open the SQL Server
