Support more than 5 Revit versions back

We have a project which still runs in Revit 2018. We have a special agreement with Autodesk to extend our licenses for Revit 2018. We would like to run Clarity task for that project, but it has a limited number of Revit versions to support.

Can you consider some flexibility for supported Revit versions?

Thank you.

Evgeny,

You would have to have a separate Clarity Host Server AND an older task server.

You would install, for example, Clarity Host 2022 with Clarity Task Server 2022, which could give you access to Revit 2022-2018, or 2017 if you installed a Clarity Task Server 2021.1 with it.

Understood. Thank you for the clarification.

Evgeny,

What you're doing now is what we recommend:

- Clarity 2024.x can support Revit 2020-2024 (5 versions)

- We allow you also to run Clarity 2023.1 Task Servers with a Clarity 2024.x host, and with that you can support Revit 2019-2023.

So with that, we're basically supporting 6 versions.

To go back further than that - you would need to set up hardware and install a separate Clarity Host and Task Server, running an older version of Clarity (like Clartiy 2022.1)- with which you could support back to Revit 2018, for example.

I don't picture us changing to support more versions than we are today, because of Autodesk's support policies, restrictions, etc.

Hi Matt,

We have configured Clarity according to your recommendations. I understand your decision to follow Autodesk in supporting Revit versions.

Sincerely,
Evgeny.

Evgeny,

the kind of flexibility we can offer is by allowing you to run an older version of Clarity. This would require you to supply the additional hardware, but we can help with the software.

Good Morning Matt,

Thank you for the reply.

We have two task machines. One is configured for Revit 2019-2023 (we still have projects in 2019 version), and another one for Revit 2020-2024 (there are new Revit 2024 projects). What else can be done for hardware on our side, and what software changes you can provide? Could you please clarify?

Thank you,
Evgeny.
