How to Force an Update to Rerun
If an update doesn’t run properly for some reason, but it shows that it is the correct version, we can’t run the updater again.
To get around this issue we can modify the UpdateVersion.txt file to a lower value so that we can rerun the update.
Host
C:\Program Files\IMAGINiT Technologies\Clarity Monitoring Service
Task Server
C:\Program Files\IMAGINiT Technologies\Clarity Task Server for Revit
Process
You will need to edit the UpdateVersion.txt file in Notepad.
The locations are shown above depending on if you need to rerun the Host or the Task Server update.
In the example below, I am on version 26.0.9, I need to change the 9 to an 8 so I can rerun the updater
You will likely get an error when trying to save it back into the original folder, so save it to the desktop, then drag it back into the original folder and overwrite it.
Rerun the Update
Now you can rerun the update by right clicking on the update icon on the desktop and Run as Administrator.
The updater will run since it thinks it needs the update.
