Operating System Upgrade

My IT team contacted me and wanted to know what the best procedure is for upgrading the operating system on our Clarity Host and (3) Task Servers.  The Host is currently running Windows Server 2019 and we plan to upgrade to either Windows Server 2022 or 2025 (not sure yet).

For the Task Servers we are currently using physical workstations (not VM) on Windows 10 22H2 and need to upgrade to Windows 11 24H2.

Is it possible to upgrade each machine or simply rebuild each one and set things up fresh. Looking for any guidance on how this affects Clarity. I figured there must be a process for this to maintain the Clarity Database via some type of export process in order to rebuild the server.

Thanks Matt. I'll reach out to the support team to get the white paper.

Andy,

- It's definitely possible to just upgrade the machines.

- For a Clarity host, if you want to migrate to a new machine with a new OS, yes, you can just do the prerequisites, move the database over, and then reinstall the exact same version of Clarity on it. Contact support (at) rand.com, they have a white paper on this.
