My system was recently updated and now all my existing projects are set to Revit 2023 can I change them to the correct release?

Jim Seferian · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

Recently had my Clarity brought back after losing the service, but when I try to access my projects, they have all been set to Revit 2023. Can this be fixed?

    eTransmitting a model from acc

    Dan Warren · 0 · Posted

I've been puzzling this out for a couple days and I'm stumped. If I wanted to make the process of downloading a prepping a model for eTransmit from BIM 360/ACC, how would I do that?

The process I'm trying to replicate:

    1) Publish the target model and all linked models 2) Download the target model and all linked models to a local location 3) unzip the downloaded file from BIM 360/ACC 4) Open the target model and save as central file 5) Confirm all links are now relative 6) SWC / Close 7) eTransmit target model (and run cleanup tasks)

  • Clarity Client How To Set the Default Server for Metrics

Sherry Pittman · 2 · Last reply by Matt Mason

If you don’t want to have to sign into the Clarity Client so that the users machine will track metrics like file open and sync times as well as untracked models, you can modify a config file to control this.

Note:  This will only track when you open a file that is workshared.

To Set Default Server for Metrics

You will need to edit a config file on the users machine to make this change.

    • The config file location is in the following location for all versions of Revit.
      • C:\ProgramData\IMAGINiT Technologies\ClarityClient.dll.config
      • Make a backup copy of the file before changing

"It looks like the requested service is currently unavailable. Please try again." Dialog

Dan Warren · 2 · Last reply by Dave Baldacchino

I just happened to be looking at a task server when this error window popped up. I watched the machine for a little while to see if it would suppress this dialog. It didn't, so, I clicked OK and then it resumed the task.

Is Clarity able to suppress this dialog? It didn't appear the task would move forward had I not intervened. I also don't think this dialog is much more than a nuisance.

  • Autodesk Device Limit Reached Warning on Task Servers

For clients using named user licensing, Autodesk has started enforcing that one named user cannot be logged in on 3 machines at the same time doing work.  When that happens, you will see the following warning, which will only allow you to have this user account accessing software on one machine at a time.

What Autodesk has told us in these cases is: The legitimate way of using Clarity with named-user licenses, is to have each task server have a separate email (user license) for each task server, just as if you had robotic interns sitting at each one doing

    GTP Stratus - Auto Publish

Dylan Blake · 3 · Last reply by Matt Mason

GTP Stratus is a fabrication tool used to track the fabrication process through a project's life. Currently, you have to manually publish Revit models up to GTP Stratus to get the latest content. Could it be possible to automate this?

  • Clarity 2024 Host System Requirements and Prerequisites

    Sherry Pittman · 0 · Posted

    Introduction

These prerequisites are required for all types of Clarity host.

This guide does not cover the full configuration and operation of the software – merely the host system requirements and prerequisites.

    Hardware/Operating System Requirements

Clarity requires a server-class Windows Server operating system to be the central web server.

A dedicated server is highly recommended.  Whether you will be using Revit Server in your environment or not, the prerequisites are the same for Clarity so the System requirements below should be referenced.

I highly recommend that you go with the Performance requirements, but no less than the Value for either

default for launchable parameters (Task Target)

    Brooke Peterson · 0 · Posted

    Hi Guys,

Our team use the Launchable parameter of Task target for quite a few tasks. We are seeing more and more end users accidentally running a task on 'all" instead of just the intended target due to the default option being to select all target files. Resulting in someone having to go in and cancel large number of tasks. (see attached image for ref:) Would it be possible to have an option for the default behaviour to select zero targets instead of all targets?

Can Clarity generate a report of schedules in multiple models?

Tom Kemp · 2 · Last reply by Tom Kemp

We have a project with several models and I would like to generate a report of all of the schedules that exist in each model.  I don't need all of the 'internalxx' variations of things like revision schedules and keynote legends.  Is there a way to do this?

    Dynamo for families Task Improvement

Brooke Peterson · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

I was wondering if there may be scope for an upgrade to the Dynamo For Families Task. We like to use this task to run a dynamo on our entire content library. Works great for a limited number of files. Just chugs through the list and gets it done. The problem is the inherent Revit limitation of not completely releasing in-use RAM until the revit session shuts down. Once we get upwards of 100-200 families being updated the revit session gradually loses available RAM, and ends up with the workstation sitting at 99% RAM in use, everything grinds to a

Sort the files on the "Manage File Filters" by the actual directory order

Jason Mounteer · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

It seems like - at least on B360 projects - that folder order isn't being used, but date uploaded or date of creation.  My teams have have several projects where random models will appear in the incorrect order when trying to filter, leading to confusion.  This is worse on projects where the actual Design Collab workflows may be used so multiple exact-name matches may appear in the index of files.

Help me understand the differences between these two tasks

Dan Warren · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

I'm comparing the Backup Project and the BIM360/ACC Download tasks. They both seem to do the same thing but with slightly different means.

The Backup Project task is more of a true backup for BIM360/ACC (appears to pull additional information like Issues, checklists, RFIs, linked files etc). This information (which could be quite a lot) is then zipped and put in a designated location (on the host or a server location). This appears to work with live Revit models (and apparently it will bundle in linked files if it can find them).

The BIM360/ACC Download task seems to be more

Launchable parameters selection dialog is not provided when launching a task from within the task setup screen

    Brooke Peterson · 0 · Posted

We have tasks setup with the target set to  *  so they allow access to all files in the project.

The launchable parameter of Target is enabled so the user can select which file to run at launch time.

The 2 run buttons as per attached image behave differently. The top one gives user option to set the launchable target parameter, while the lower one in setup screen, just launches the task on all files.

This then launches in our case 100(sometimes thousands) of tasks which i need to go and cancel. If other tasks are running at the same

Provide an action to set all tasks to use "Only On Change".

Ken Etter · 3 · Last reply by Matt Mason

Clarity sends emails about inactive projects that still have scheduled tasks running.  It would be great if Clarity had a "quick action" that could set all tasks for a project to run "Only On Change".  Or at least provide an individual action on the Setup Tasks page that would let us toggle "Only On Change" on or off without having to go in and edit each task.  It is currently much too time consuming to edit every single task to make this change.

Email file from Task output directly to the user

Brooke Peterson · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

I am wondering if a feature upgrade (or existing feature I may be unaware of?) could be made to allow for files to be emailed to a user upon completion of the task.

e.g. export DWG or export PDF, I would like to be able to email the file directly to the user that requested the file. In a perfect world based on file size there would be options for emailing directly or emailing a link to download the file.

Alternately, a way that when a task is initiated by the user, for the username to be available to post

Show the task number for the log window

Evgeny Kurbatov · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

I am trying to find the task which delays a Task Server. I want to find it by the task number, but sometimes it is not shown in the visible portion of the Clarity Task Log window. Is it possible add the task number to the window title?

Task name would be informative too.

    Thank you.

    Project Co-ordinator Access Task Setting

    Brooke Peterson · 0 · Posted

I think a very useful feature for  The Task Options is to allow an additional level of control in the Access Required field of a Task setup: If this could be a dropdown that included Administrator/Project Coordinator/Standard User etc, that way we can better control which users can run each task.
