    eTransmitting a model from acc

    Dan Warren · 0 · Posted

I've been puzzling this out for a couple days and I'm stumped. If I wanted to make the process of downloading a prepping a model for eTransmit from BIM 360/ACC, how would I do that?

The process I'm trying to replicate:

    1) Publish the target model and all linked models 2) Download the target model and all linked models to a local location 3) unzip the downloaded file from BIM 360/ACC 4) Open the target model and save as central file 5) Confirm all links are now relative 6) SWC / Close 7) eTransmit target model (and run cleanup tasks)

    Floors in Project Query

Dan Warren · 1 · Last reply by Dan Warren

I'm trying to set up a project query for floors. I cannot find the floor category from the dropdown.

There is an entry for Roofs but not Floors. I found MassFloors, but I don't think that's the object I'm looking for.

  • Clarity Task Processing - Task Order and Identity

    Sherry Pittman · 0 · Posted

There are several factors that control or impact task processing, please refer to the information below.

    Types of Task Servers

There are several types of Task Servers that can be enabled in the Clarity task tray.  For each of these, the proper identity must be associated to it.  For Revit tasks, the logged in windows session should be the designated Clarity account.  For the Windows task server, the service account identity needs to be the “log on” in that service.  Forge requires credentials and a key.

      • This will process tasks that require opening the Revit model.

    Column Grid Reports

Scott MacKenzie · 4 · Last reply by Scott MacKenzie

I do not see Grids as a category (source table) option when creating a new project report.  I want to get a report of the worksets all my grids are on, if they are pinned and if they are monitoring grids in a linked model.  Also, I do not see a Grids table in the RandRevit SQL database.  Should there be?

I'm running tasks Database Export, Model Metrics and Performance Advisor.  I would assume that is enough to get column grid data into the database.

Currently we have Clarity version 22.1.18.0

    Thanks!

default for launchable parameters (Task Target)

    Brooke Peterson · 0 · Posted

    Hi Guys,

Our team use the Launchable parameter of Task target for quite a few tasks. We are seeing more and more end users accidentally running a task on 'all" instead of just the intended target due to the default option being to select all target files. Resulting in someone having to go in and cancel large number of tasks. (see attached image for ref:) Would it be possible to have an option for the default behaviour to select zero targets instead of all targets?

Can Clarity generate a report of schedules in multiple models?

Tom Kemp · 2 · Last reply by Tom Kemp

We have a project with several models and I would like to generate a report of all of the schedules that exist in each model.  I don't need all of the 'internalxx' variations of things like revision schedules and keynote legends.  Is there a way to do this?

    Dynamo for families Task Improvement

Brooke Peterson · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

I was wondering if there may be scope for an upgrade to the Dynamo For Families Task. We like to use this task to run a dynamo on our entire content library. Works great for a limited number of files. Just chugs through the list and gets it done. The problem is the inherent Revit limitation of not completely releasing in-use RAM until the revit session shuts down. Once we get upwards of 100-200 families being updated the revit session gradually loses available RAM, and ends up with the workstation sitting at 99% RAM in use, everything grinds to a

Sort the files on the "Manage File Filters" by the actual directory order

Jason Mounteer · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

It seems like - at least on B360 projects - that folder order isn't being used, but date uploaded or date of creation.  My teams have have several projects where random models will appear in the incorrect order when trying to filter, leading to confusion.  This is worse on projects where the actual Design Collab workflows may be used so multiple exact-name matches may appear in the index of files.

    Breaking Large Print Jobs Up

Dan Warren · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

If I wanted to take a large print job (several hundred pages) and break it up into multiple smaller jobs that could be distributed across multiple task servers, how would I do that?

This is what I have built so far:

    1) In Revit break the print set into multiple sets "Print Set Name X of Y". This could be done relatively quickly with one of many tools (dynamo, ideate, etc.).

    2) Create identical PDF tasks for each "X of Y" print set. Post task action place the PDFs in a common location.

    3) Schedule the tasks to run at

Help me understand the differences between these two tasks

Dan Warren · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

I'm comparing the Backup Project and the BIM360/ACC Download tasks. They both seem to do the same thing but with slightly different means.

The Backup Project task is more of a true backup for BIM360/ACC (appears to pull additional information like Issues, checklists, RFIs, linked files etc). This information (which could be quite a lot) is then zipped and put in a designated location (on the host or a server location). This appears to work with live Revit models (and apparently it will bundle in linked files if it can find them).

The BIM360/ACC Download task seems to be more

Launchable parameters selection dialog is not provided when launching a task from within the task setup screen

    Brooke Peterson · 0 · Posted

We have tasks setup with the target set to  *  so they allow access to all files in the project.

The launchable parameter of Target is enabled so the user can select which file to run at launch time.

The 2 run buttons as per attached image behave differently. The top one gives user option to set the launchable target parameter, while the lower one in setup screen, just launches the task on all files.

This then launches in our case 100(sometimes thousands) of tasks which i need to go and cancel. If other tasks are running at the same

Task name would be informative too.

    Project Co-ordinator Access Task Setting

    Brooke Peterson · 0 · Posted

I think a very useful feature for  The Task Options is to allow an additional level of control in the Access Required field of a Task setup: If this could be a dropdown that included Administrator/Project Coordinator/Standard User etc, that way we can better control which users can run each task.

    PDF "garbled" Text Issue

Taylor DeVaney · 2 · Last reply by Heather

Some of our PDF files generated from PDF Tasks have text issues to where the text displays as "garbled" text - showing random characters of symbols, letters, and numbers. We use the Arial Font, which all of our Task Servers have installed.

My workaround is to the issue is to first delete the existing PDF files in the Project's main Artifact folder first so that there is no PDF files that Clarity has to attempt to overwrite, which does seem to help issue, but we have overnight/scheduled PDF Tasks that we run as Check Sets that are  constantly having to

More options for Task Sequence target override

Brooke Peterson · 1 · Last reply by Matt Mason

We would like for there to be a way to specify additional options in the task sequence target.

e.g. Task 1 & 2 use the main task sequence file target - but task 3 uses it's individual set target.

We run seqence tasks that take a single file, update the file and the duplicate the file based on criteria. I would then like to continue the task sequence - but change the target to the newly created files.

alternatively an option to sequence a task sequence? Sequence 1 includes sequence 2 and 3 for example? This would also solve the
