More oAuth Woes

I want to lead with how much I appreciate the work and development your team does to make and keep Clarity a meaningful and valuable product. Today is the second time I've run into this issue. All of my task servers lost their oAuth at midnight today and now none of our tasks can be completed.

In addition to losing the oAuth on the Task servers, Autodesk has kindly locked my account so I currently cannot reset my password or log in.

So, not only is my clarity service completely dysfunctional now, I also cannot access my Autodesk assets and every time a machine tries to re-authorize my account is locked for another 30 minutes. The only way I know how to resolve this issue is to completely shutdown clarity. I get this is not your fault, but this needs resolution.

At the least, can we get to a point where I don't have to completely shutdown Clarity while I wait for Autodesk to unlock my account? I currently cannot access my autodesk user management, asset management, or log into any Autodesk portals (including ABC Pro and BIm 360 Team).

Thanks, Matt! I appreciate the advice. We'll try disabling the auto login for a short time to see if that helps. I typically check the oAuth on the task servers each Monday then set a calendar reminder 24 hours before they lose their token to reauthenticate.

Now, am I doing this part correctly? To re-authenticate a task servers I usually remote into a task server then log-out/ log-in to the desktop connector. Is there another method I should be using?

Dan, yes, that's the easiest way to do it.

That said - if you've got Desktop Connector installed, it should be automatically extending you if things are going well.

Dan,

That's obviously terrible - sorry to see that.

I think at this point you should probably disable the "auto-sign in" feature in the task tray (which has always been a little bit fragile - but it was one of our "backstops" if tokens expired).

If you're not running Clarity 2021.1 already, I highly recommend it, and in particular the latest couple of updates we did. While still just dealing with symptoms, rather than the core - we now have alert messages via email if the BIM360 credentials go from logged in to not-logged in. As well as a few other features to help manage it.

(Task Server Alerts are set up on the Metrics/Alerts/Task Servers page).

(and on the Task Tray/Logs tab, please send in your diagnostics to us for review!)

Best Regards,

Matt
