Need Help Setting Up a Task (Gluing to Another Firm BIM Account)

So i'm trying to set up routine exports from our design models to a GCs glue hub. Ideally, I'd like to export several views with .GLUE appended to them and push that to the GCs glue project. I don't have glue set up on my account so I cannot host the GCs workflow on my account?

I'm sure I could set up the task to export views with *.GLUE in the name to select which elements are being exported but how do i control which glue account/project the files are pushed to?

We have all our design models set up in one BIM 360 Project, but the GC is breaking each of the three buildings into their own Glue Projects. Thoughts?

Dan - not easily...

Right now one Clarity Project corresponds to one Glue project.

You'll have to set up 3 separate Clarity Projects - pointing to the Revit files - and setup the Glue integration three separate times, and keep your tasks in three separate Clarity Projects.

So it sounds possible, but a bit of a hassle.

Thanks for the update. I thought it might be something like that... How would that work for the user and their Revit Add in if multiple projects are Clarity Projects are pointed to the same Revit file? Would this impact other tasks?

Dan - correct, that's one of the gotchas. If three different projects all point to the same Revit file, it will be problematic to do some of the Clarity Client addin stuff:

- Launch Tasks
- Some client-based model metrics will all be sent to one project, not the others.

You may only be able to run the tasks reliably from the website where you can pick what project you're referring to.

That's correct, Matt! Thanks so much for the guidance. This is for classic Glue on another team's account. I think this is everything i need to put the puzzle together. Thanks for the rapid response.

My only other question... The GC is creating a Glue Project for EACH of the three buildings am I able to accomidate this once I point Clarity to their Glue account?

Dan,

Just to be clear - you're talking about a "Classic Glue" setup, right (not the new BIM360 Glue/Model Coordination piece, right?).

To do the Classic Glue setup, you'll need to get from the Glue site owner the API Key and Secret Key associated with their Glue Account.

You set this up inside of Clarity by going to the Edit-Project pulldown and choosing "Manage Glue" - then setting up the Glue credentials to use for the project.

You can see more info about the process here:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/IMAGINiTSoftware/Documentation/Clarity/2021.1/index.htm#t=Admin___Coordinators_Guide%2FProject_Setup%2FProject_Home%2FGlue_Configuration_Setup.htm&rhsearch=Manage%20Glue&rhsyns=%20

After that, you can publish either the DWF or Navisworks files to Glue with the "Publish to Glue" or "Publish Navisworks to Glue"   (either one will take the Revit views you specify and make the files, then upload the files to the project you specify - you also specify a folder name).
