Failed Revit Model Backup Clarity Task checkingout items in the model

When creating a Revit Model Backup Task the Clarity server is failing & checking out items in the model. It's my understanding that Clarity isn't opening the model for these types of tasks which makes it confusing.

Kelly,

the one other idea to consider is this:

- use the C4RPublish task to force a publish

- use the BIM360 Download task to download the published moddels.

Thankyou Matt! I apologize! I neglected to mention our use of BIM360 on this project. Nice catch. We did try & think outside the box & use “Publish Revit Model” instead but it appears that also opens the models.

It appears the issue is with our outrageously large & warning laden Structural model. Excessive Worksets, 3D views & sections I would assume have something to do with our issues too. Once Clarity hits that model it chugs until it chokes out. I’ve communicated with the team & they have begun to cleanup the model. Hopefully that’ll solve the issue eventually. However, FYI, to test this issue I’ve opened the Struc model manually on our Clarity Task Server & it does open & sync fine.

I’ll go through & send the logs so you can see what we’ve been running into. Am I correct in assuming that’s the full task diagnostics? If not just let me know. Thanks again for the assistance Matt!

Kelly,

In general, we don't open the files - with one notable exception: backing up live models from a BIM360 Docs project. In that case, it's the only way for us.

If you can send in Task Diagnostics, we'll review it and see if we can figure out why there's a failure - but more importantly how we can ensure that we're relinquishing any permissions that we wind up with.
