AutoCAD read only

Can we get an option added to all AutoCAD tasks that will allows up to open the DWGs in read only mode? I know not every AutoCAD command may work with this, but it would be helpful to have for tasks and scripts that will still function in read only files.

AutoCAD doesn't have a option for opening read-only but the core console version does. Most tasks have the ability to override to use core console and add a command line option in a parameter.  The option needed would be  /readonly.
