Clarity version 2024 not allowing ProjectWise username prefaced with an underscore?

Our company standards dictate that all our ProjectWise service accounts are prefaced with "_" and we have never had an issue with 2023 version of Clarity... However after upgrading to 2024 it appears that this introduces errors within the latest version 2024?

Personally I've never had any issue using the ProjectWise API with these usernames before; however the Clarity software seems to cause significant errors with Connection Client software licensing in this latest version... Can we please get this bug patched instead of just writing a warning and pretending that the problem is within the ProjectWise API?

we don’t understand it, but the problem is definitely on the ProjectWise SDK side… we have tested it a variety of ways.

let me look back and see if Bentley ever responded to us on it…

Hi Matt,

Thanks for getting back to me. We have some custom tasks that authenticate to ProjectWise using IMS that we have run on the latest version of Clarity (not using your integration) and they work fine with these usernames. Additionally we used the same service account prefixed with an underscore in prior versions of clarity without any issue, so it seems like this might be a recently introduced bug? Not sure what your exact methods are for authentication but let me know if you would like to setup a call, I'd be more than happy to discuss in more detail
