Revit can run on a limited number of devices

Hello,

Task computers give the message "Device Limit Reached":

image-1739303132557.png

It started appearing just today. We allow 8 Revit instances per every of two Task Servers, and the problem didn't appear before.

Is that something new from the Autodesk policy? What would you suggest?

Thank you,
Evgeny.

Evgeny,

It's complicated - but Autodesk may just be enforcing something more strictly than they have in the past.

See: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Maximum-number-of-computers-permitted-for-single-user-subscription.html

It's complicated because it may be affected by the type of subscription that you have, as well as whether your company has an Enterprise Business Agreement with Autodesk. Some companies are also on flex-tokens.

Ultimately - it's hard-to-impossible for us to tell you what your subscription's limit is for concurrent uses (particularly across different machines).

We generally have been telling new customers for several years that Autodesk's general expectations are one Autodesk account per machine, unless your subscription allows for more than that.

Best Regards,

Matt

Sorry for sending my question, the system did not suggest me the existing post. Why didn't we have any issues for years and now the problem does appear?
