Clarity Task presumed dead

Good afternoon. I have a project whose PDF print task keeps dying. I have journals from the 5 times that it tried to print. It always gets through to some level of sheets being printed, but after several hours, it completes with error saying either "The task has been in progress for TOO LONG. Presumed dead!" or "The task has apparently died." It always gives up on a different sheet, so it does not appear to be tied to one troublesome sheet. Please review the journals and advise what could be causing this. Thank you.

Damian,

We've reviewed the journals but it's a bit confusing about what is going on. Somehow something starts saving the model in the middle of the print job. There's some indication that it might be another addin at play, such as the Revit P&ID modeler which is installed on that task server.

That said - in general it is much better for us if you go into the completed task status page for a specific task and hit the "Send to IMAGINiT" button, rather than just posting journal files here. That will gather up the one journal file that is relevant to a specific task, as well as other log files beyond the journal file, and give us the task configuration and task log.

We'll be much better able to help you that way.

Best Regards,

Matt

Matt, I sent you the journals via the "Send to IMAGINiT" button. Did you receive? Any further insight as to what is happening?

Thank you.

Damien,

From the look of your journal file, the Task Server is running on machine MIACN0201.

This machine does not seem to have a graphics card that Revit recognizes - you should work with your IT department to understand and resolve this.

As a result - the sheets print VERY slowly. Most take 1-3 minutes, but there are a variety of what I presume are the more complex ones that take far longer:

A50-01-RECEPTION DESK.pdf took 44 minutes

A44-04-VENDING LOUNGE ENLARGED DRAWINGS.pdf 16 minutes

A44-05-CONFERENCE & WORK ROOMS ENLARGED DRAWINGS.pdf 50 minutes

A45-01-COMMON AREAS INTERIOR ELEVATIONS.pdf 30 minutes

This is why the task eventually times out.

Best Regards,

Matt
