Does anyone have an example of a LinkRemapInstructions.txt file that I can use as a go-by? Thank you.

I am looking for a way to automatically link models after running an "Update Revit Model from Disk" task.  The very last option is a "Re-map Links".  Which states the option is to, "change the mapping of the links, based on the remap file on the task server."  See the attached file for the only mention of the LinkRemapInstructions.txt file that I can find.

Any help is appreciated.

Matt:

I can certainly start a support request if that is the best way.  But all I want is an example LinkRemapping text file, I think I can figure it out from there.

Sorry Matt, I did not see your response 12 days ago.  I don't want to put the full path on here but it would be from a network path, "...\0_1_2_Template Library\0_1_2_2_Revit\Arch\Template_A_R22_I.rvt

In our templates we have what we call the big 6 (all the primary discipline models, Arch, Struct, mech, Plumb, Elec, Fire) linked into each template model.  Which you can imagine takes a lot of time to then go in and relink the other 5 disciplines, into each of the 6 templates.

So, what I want to do is copy the templates from our template folder to Revit server (which I have a task set up to do that).then relink each file.

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks again for your help in this matter.  This will make my year if I can get it figured out.

Ted, I think I'd recommend that you open a support case with    support (at) rand.com for this... That way you can tell us exact examples, and we can try to craft the file for you...

Thanks Matt:  It is ti be used with Revit server.  I do a lot of work for the Federal Government which cannot be on ACC.

For others in our division that do not have the federal requirement, I would love to see what you have for ACC.

Ted - sorry, I missed your response... If you still need it, can you give an example of a path that you'd like to remap to another path for a link, and we'll make a sample LinkRemap file here...

Ted,

I can get you one - but may I ask - what form are the links in?

The mechanism that Autodesk had for link remapping has never worked for BIM360/ACC - it only works for File-based and Revit Server links. what type are you trying to re-link?

(we have implemented our own scheme for link remapping of BIM360/ACC links - let me know if that's what you need and I can review how that works).
