custom revit model file name

Hi,

I use the Publish Revit Model task and want to customize the output filename by client's requirements. I can't find a Filename Builder or just an ability to type its name directly. Do I miss something?

Thank you,

Evgeny.

We don’t have that at present- our focus was getting the file out of where it originally resides. Would you want just a simple name for it? Or something complex to build ?

At the moment even a simple name would be helpful for our current projects. I'll very appreciated if we can have this quick fix.

Hope I can pass the name to a post-action to copy the file to elsewhere.

I don't see we need to build something complex at the moment.

But the Filename Builder is missing one useful thing - the Revit Version. Our naming convention requires to include it in the file name. For example, a name A-Building-R2016.rvt tells me that it is an architectural model and I should start Revit 2016 to open it. With later Revit version I can open it but I loose significant time for conversion, trying to find a native Revit version with poke method is also time wasting. So I think the [RevitVersion] tag would be useful for building a Revit file name.

In Publish task, can we get the "Appended Date" to be "Append file name" and then choose date or write variables to generate the appended text string.
